Everyone check out Lauren’s and Jon’s stellar performance to showcase the power of super cold temperatures in the Kindergarten classroom! The self-inflating “dog” and liquid nitrogen ice cream were particular favorites! Big thanks to special help from Professor J. Franck. Check out the pics and the video!  

Congratulations to Alana Levine (MS Biotech ’16), Ashok Seetharam (MS BME ’16) and Lauren Chanen (BS ME ’16) on successfully earning their respective degrees! We will miss you but are excited for your next steps in your professional careers!

Set for completion in 2018 – The Franck Lab will get a new home as part of the “Mechanics Cluster” featured on the 2nd floor of the new Engineering Building. The new home will provide significantly enhanced state-of-the art experimental facilities and will naturally foster and accelerate the interdisciplinary strength of Mechanics at Brown.

The Franck Lab in collaboration with the Henann Lab at Brown receives a 3-year grant from the Army Research Office to develop advanced constitutive models of low density, nonlinear viscoelastic foam materials.
